Osteria Elisir offers unique and creative menus nightly highlighting Fargione’s creativity and constant search for taste, presentation and concept. The menu changes seasonally.
Located in the heart of Washington DC Penn Quarter Elisir is conveniently located at 427 11thstreet NW Washington, DC (between Pennsylvania Ave & E Street)
The design and decor is the fruit of collaboration with the renowned architectural firm Grupo 7 that created a first class restaurant with stylish contemporary, but elegant décor and with typical European flares. The Countryside decor adds comfort, warmth and a restaurant you can dine at with family, daily…but elegant enough for power meals and date night.
Osteria Elisir accommodates approximately 85 patrons in the dining area, 35 patrons at a bar, and 35 in its glass enclosed private room. The Restaurant showcases 3 glass fronted wine cellars, fine wood millwork, porcelain tile and carpet floors, pendant lighting and custom metal details…wine barrels, farming tools and charming country displays!
The partially open kitchen features a plating station and an observation deck, which monitors the work of Chef Fargione and feeds to nearby LCD monitors
The Restaurant is open 5 days a week for lunch and 6 days a week for dinner service. The wine list features extensive selections from Italy, California, South Africa and a few French and Virginia labels. A multiple wine pairing program is also available to accommodate any dinner menu selection.
Chef Enzo Fargione
Growing up in Torino, Italy, Chef Enzo learned to love cooking via his mother’s example at a very early age and has never stopped. At fourteen, he enrolled in The Professional Culinary Institute in Turin, Italy and finished at the top of his class. In 1986, after having worked in numerous restaurants, fate would play a hand in his future: though only seventeen, the Chef packed his bags and became the first head Chef at the Little Italy Gourmet in San Diego California. A few months later, he joined Galileo restaurant as head chef in Washington, DC. and ran a four star kitchen.Between then and now, Enzo has earned success and respect in the culinary world while working and owning numerous and successful Washington DC restaurants such as Donna Adele, the Radicchio restaurant chain, the acclaimed fine dining Barolo on Capitol Hill, the Italian tapas restaurant concept Atrium in West Palm Beach, Florida and working as Executive Chef/Consultant at Teatro Goldoni restaurant.Throughout the years he has earned two nominations for The Chef of the Year by the Restaurant Association of Metropolitan Washington; won a few national awards and was recognized by magazines and newspapers across the country for the authenticity and for his approach to modern Italian cooking as well as his playful inventiveness.
With unflagging energy, Chef Fargione still finds time to teach cooking classes where he passes on his personalized vision of modern cooking as well as attending and supporting local charity events with his fellow chefs. Chef Enzo is an active and proud member of the James Beard Foundation where he regularly cooks and appears in its kitchen in New York City.

Each class will focus on different subjects, recipes, regions and ingredientsCooking sessions will last about 3 to 4 hours and will include complimentary lunch, wine, refreshments, recipes and cooking aprons.

Program and Guidelines
Join Chef Enzo Fargione for an unforgettable culinary experience in his kitchen at OSTERIA ELISIR. Chef Enzo has designed a series of hands on cooking classes for curious beginners, seasoned home cooks and enthusiastic food lovers.
Saturday morning classes are available for up to 16 people
Classes begin at 10 am sharp and will last approximately 3 to 4 hours
Please wear comfortable attire and shoes as students will partially stand and interact during class.
The cost is $129.00 per person inclusive of food and wine but it excludes 10% sales tax and 15% service gratuities.

Reservations & Cancellation Policy
Request a copy of the class’s schedule and explore our detailed program for private cooking class parties at your home for birthdays, anniversaries and special occasions. Please call our private event coordinators at Elisir Restaurant at 202-546-0088.
Payments are accepted by credit cards only and will be charged only once your reservation is final and fully confirmed. Payments by credit cards will incur a processing fee of 3%. Payment must be received 24 hours prior the class date and all cooking class reservations are final and cancellations are not permitted.
A minimum number of 8 attendees are required and any class might be cancelled at the sole discretion of Elisir Restaurant. In case of cancellation by Elisir Restaurant, an alternate future class will be offered instead.
